ASKING £16,000 ONO
1992 Range Rover Vogue 3.9 EFI with 5 Speed Manual Gearbox - Ex Land Rover Company Vehicle & a pre-production MY1993 model delivered in the rare and rich Sonoran Brown with teddy bear velour trim.
An original UK RHD car, factory delivered to Land Rover UK Ltd on the 19th February 1992 fitted with its current and original 3.9 EFI (electronic fuel injected) engine mated to the most desirable 5 Speed Manual Gearbox.
Sold with its original, period registration or J67 SKV which has never come off the car and even more special are the period number plates with the unique ‘Land Rover’ logo on the bottom right corner that are still affixed to the car.
Finished off in the rarest factory colour of Sonoran Brown, a colour that was only available in cars built from October 1992; it shows off the cars lines with gorgeous elegance. This car still retains most of it’s original paint and has recently been carefully corrected and machine polished by Limitless Detailing at a cost of over £300.
Sat behind the wheel in the comfortable period ‘teddy bear’ velour armchairs that are the seats, the V8 burble is addictive and controlled through a proper manual gearbox you are set for plenty of smiles per gallon. Being one of the last models before the ‘soft dash’ came in in 1994 this car benefits from power steering, electric windows and air conditioning. It is also fitted with a period immobiliser and Kenlow cooling fan that was fitted in the late 90’s. This is confirmed by a number of letters between the first owner and a sales manager at Kenlow that accompany the car.
The car it isn't without imperfections, but nothing more than you would expect for a car of this age. A couple of minor dings here and there but mechanically it is a very solid and reliable driver. Structurally it is solid, and needs no welding at all and should be good for a number of years. The recent MOT on the 10th August confirms that this car needs nothing. For added piece of mind, in May 2019 the car had a full health check carried out by RR London, Land Rover specialists in Battersea, London and came out with an incredibly clean bill of health. Please feel free to speak with Ross at RR London to get his opinion on the car.
Part of what sold me the car when I bought it was the completeness of the car’s history. Every scrap of paper has been kept by each and every one of the cars 5 previous owners. MOT certificates, original sales invoice from the first private owner in 1994 when he purchased the car from Land Rover in Kent. Detailed service history and owners manuals really complete this car’s history and paint a lovely picture of how well this car was maintained by its former keepers. A British Motor Heritage certificate from the BMIHT archive confirms its factory specification and originality. Interestingly noted as Leather upholstery, this is believed to have been an early factory option that was tested before being fitted with its current velour upholstery when being sold by LR to its first private owner.
This beautiful example of the iconic Range Rover ‘Classic’ model has always been properly garaged under a car cover throughout my ownership and is sold with its bespoke fitted car cover.
With the upcoming 50th Anniversary of the Range Rover next year, J67 SKV is a fantastic investment opportunity ahead of this major celebration for the Land Rover brand.
